HOW YOUR AI CONTENT IS HANDLED

We use Gemini AI to create reflections and help you explore your journal. When you enable AI, relevant journal content and supporting context are sent securely to Gemini for processing.

Relevant Context Selected Locally

During an analysis, Noereli searches within the app for related journal entries and saved insights that can add context to your reflection. Apple Health information is included only when you’ve given permission.

Stateless Cloud Processing

Selected content is sent securely to Gemini to help create your reflection or answer. Your content is never used to train AI models.

Reflection Returned to Device

Generated insights and reflections land directly back into your on-device local storage. If you enable cloud backup, they are encrypted before being uploaded.

Zero Provider Retention

Gemini AI retention is permanently disabled and Noereli is exempt from prompt logging of any kind. Your content does not remain on cloud servers you don't control.

What does "Zero AI Retention" mean?

Our AI provider processes the content needed for Noereli's reflection and search features without storing or retaining that content or the generated results after processing completes. This is achieved via enterprise Vertex AI terms, disabled project caching, and an approved Abuse-Monitoring Prompt Logging Exemption. It is completely separate from the local journal you keep on your device and any encrypted cloud backups you enable.
